"Last fall, Dr. Schwimmer performed the Coblation Turbinate Reduction procedure on me. I was a severe allergy sufferer getting no relief from a variety of drugs, inhalers and nose sprays. Whenever I'd spend any time outdoors, I'd predictably suffer that evening and the next day to a point that staying in the house most of the time was the only thing that seemed to reduce my allergy attacks. Even then, they could be pretty severe. Out of total desperation, I had the procedure. But my expectations were not very high since nothing else I had been doing provided any relief. I was constantly coughing and clearing my throat, sneezing and worst of all, not sleeping very well. I felt sick and/or tired most of the time and totally frustrated that my life had been reduced to this. It has been 9 months since the procedure. I'm back to playing golf 3 times a week and attending my grandson's ball games. While my symptoms haven't vanished, they are substantially better and I feel like I have my life back. I'm sleeping far better and frankly haven't felt this good in years. On a scale of 0-10, my allergies ranged between a 6-10 constantly before the procedure. Now they range between 0-3, more or less. We summer in the mountains of North Carolina and while allergies can be bad in the Dallas area, they were invented in the temperate rain forest of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
